Why is documentary photography the perfect medium for telling your holiday story…
What makes the holidays memorable? Posing with Santa Claus at the mall is not the image which comes to mind when you remember holidays of the past. Instead, it’s the family traditions which make the holidays stand out from one-another: the big family meals, the baking and making of cookies, the adventure of cutting down your tree or decorating your tree and putting up your stockings. Or it can also be that late night tobogganing session with the neighbourhood kids, or the family dinner where grandpa burnt the turkey.
These memories all too often slip by, and more so, you aren't always in them if you are the one taking those photos. As a family documentary photographer, this is what I look for... those real moments, where the image truly captures the essence of the story. Documentary style photography is an amazing way to preserve your memories, for years to come.
